School Expansion

Additional DfE expansion funding has allowed the school to put together a plan to provide a much-needed Art block, and a new Library. The new block will provide 3 purpose-built studios on the ground floor. On the first floor, a new, 200sq ft school Library will be provided, with capacity for 150 people, much extending and improving the facilities on offer to students. The school has, including Sixth Form, some 1,030 students, with 160 students in each Year Group. This will rise to an intake of 192 for the next academic year. As part of this expansion the school has made a commitment to deliver a fair access and partnership plan, by 2020 (and in subsequent years) as part of its successful Selective Schools Expansion Fund Bid. This will introduce changes to make it easier for children eligible for Pupil Premium to access a place. The school is also undertaking outreach work with groups of pupils from local primary schools.
