Marsyl’s Musings

My musings are somewhat limited at the moment. I have developed an auto-immune condition which has left me unable to even pick up a cup of coffee, let alone get on with my craft work. I am not unwell just fed up and I can’t think straight! However I have great admiration and praise for the District Nursing team that comes regularly to treat me. More literary constructions next time!

Editor’s Notes

We had a good response to our last newsletter and it was much appreciated by all our readers. Thank you to everyone who sent in such good articles. Please keep them coming! Many thanks again to Joan Gurney for her continued submission of interesting articles and I hope other Old Girls will send in their articles/photos for our next issue. It is not difficult to email me (or call me for my postal address) and no great literary work is required!
We had another successful AGM at the School in July but we hope that more Old Girls will attend next year. It is not just a business meeting (which we have to hold) but a chance to meet up with others, eat and chat!
I found a 1924 booklet “Education in Colchester 1835-1935” written by J Cuckney MA, Secretary to the Education Committee. The mention of CCHS was: “The County High School for Girls provides secondary education for over 500 girls.” In contrast CRGS was given half a page! Comments?
