It is with sadness that I must report that my wife, Wyn, had a massive second stroke on the 2nd January, 9 years after her first one. She did not regain consciousness and died on the 8th January 2023. We had been married for 65 years and 5 months, all but one day. She is survived by myself, 2 sons, 3 daughters, 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and as you can
appreciate leaves a big hole in a big family.
She first attended the Prep School from the age of 7 and went on to the senior School after passing the eleven plus.
She had a successful early career, and then qualified as a teacher as a mature student, later appointed as Head of History at Landermere school in Thorpe Le Soken. She later became a Financial Adviser. After retirement we both served on a humanitarian mission for our Church, in Vladivostok, Russia for 2 years. When we returned home, Wyn was elected as a Councillor on Colchester Borough Council and served for 8 years.
Although I say it myself as her husband she was a very remarkable and capable individual as well as a very loving wife and mother. The family miss her lovely spirit.
