Diane Pannell (Scott, 1968-1975)
Fay Welsh (Wiseman 1968-1975) writes that Diane was awarded the BEM for her outstanding contribution to music education and services to the community in West Suffolk, extending over 40 years.
Diane has conducted and played in numerous brass bands throughout this time, as well as providing extra-curricular music opportunities for hundreds of pupils through her teaching career in Suffolk. She also organised sports clubs, activities and numerous educational trips for her pupils, continuing her work throughout the whole of her career and never receiving extra remuneration for it. Her contribution to the lives of countless people, young and old, cannot be over-emphasised and has deservedly been recognised by the Queen.
During her time at CCHS, Diane represented the school in netball, rounders, athletics and tennis, took part in House activities and played trombone in numerous school music concerts and productions.
Vicki Stephenson (1999-2006)
I am wondering if anyone still keeps in touch with two Philosophy and Religious Education teachers from that time - Mr and Mrs Gorman. They were two of my favourite teachers at school and I often think of them. Their liberal approach to their subjects, their supportive encouragement of debate and independent thinking and their lively personalities were really memorable and have shaped so much of who I am today.
I'd love to reach out to them and see how they're getting on, but I'm not sure how to reach them. Any ideas or leads much appreciated!
