Students from Years 9 to 13 had the incredible opportunity to attend an inspiring talk by “The Apprentice” contestant Chisola Chitambala. She shared her remarkable journey, from struggling with her A levels to becoming a children’s nurse and eventually stepping into the world of business. Her story was one of resilience, determination, and self-belief, showing us that setbacks do not define our future. Instead, she encouraged us to view failures as stepping stones to success, reminding us that perseverance and hard work can lead to incredible opportunities.
“One of the key things I hope to prove to myself is my ability to consistently step outside my comfort zone and thrive in unfamiliar and challenging business situations. I want to demonstrate that I can navigate uncertainty with confidence, tackling tasks head-on even when the path forward isn’t immediately clear.”
During the session, we had the chance to ask Chisola questions about her experiences, including how she stayed motivated when things didn’t go as planned. She spoke openly about the challenges she faced and the lessons she learned along the way, offering valuable advice about school, career choices, and life in general. Her words resonated with many of us, particularly her emphasis on believing in ourselves and never letting fear hold us back. T he talk left us feeling empowered and motivated to take control of our own futures, knowing that setbacks are just part of the journey. We are incredibly grateful to Chisola for sharing her story with such honesty and encouragement. Remember the words of Walt Disney: “The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing”.
A huge thank you also goes to Mrs. Knight for organizing this amazing experience—we all left feeling truly inspired!
