The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Year

This is the Queen’s 70th year as monarch and it is quite interesting to see what the school was doing in the years of her accession and coronation... Nothing!

Nothing was mentioned in the 1952-53 School Magazine about the death of King George VI or the accession of Queen Elizabeth II, except that there was a three day Coronation Holiday on 1st, 2nd and 3rd June 1953! However, the poem below was written by M.Stothard, then in the Middle Fifth.
