Christmas Past, Present and Future  Kate Karpinski, Middle V

"It's come, it's come!" the fair bonny Saxon lad called.

All the fires are being lit, and chiefs come from afar.

The feast is laid, and all sit round,

Chiefs, sons, maidens, children, slaves,

We all file through, the latter run.

Wine and mead, pig and sheep,

It all tastes good, when we eat together.

It's come, it's come!" the girl from the flat above called.

The Christmas tree is in, and Aunty and Grandad are here.

The dinner is laid and all sit round,

Grandad, Aunty, Dad, Mum, children.

We all file through, the latter run.

Wine and orange, turkey and pud,

It all tastes good, when we eat together.

"It's come, it's come!" the girls out of the stars called.

The computer is programmed, Daleks and Martians arrive.

Tablets appear, all gather round,

Ruler, Deputy, Producer, Followers.

Pink and brown tablets, round and square pills,

It all tastes good, when we eat together.
