Beverley Hodgkinson was a teacher at Colchester County High School for Girls for more than 40 years, one of the longest-serving members of staff, and was greatly respected and admired by all.   She cared deeply about her subject, Latin and the Classics, and her students and used her wicked sense of humour to import knowledge at the same time as fun.

For the staff she was a valued friend and colleague and will be greatly missed.   A memorial is planned in the school grounds and an online Book of

Remembrance has been set up for students, parents, staff and past students to share their memories.  email to BookofCondolences@cchsg.com.  Her family suggests supporting the work of Macmillan Nurses through the Macmillan Cancer Support charity.

Miss Hodgkinson’s funeral took place on 10th July this year.
