My Journey into Botanic Drawing
Brenda Green, 1958-65

I wondered if any of you would be interested in the above ‘talk’ I do regarding my becoming a member of The Society of Botanic Artists? When I suggested this to Jean she said we could at least ask and see what response there is, so here goes….
It began, of course, thanks to Molly Brown’s excellent tuition, her Art Room being my one salvation at CCHS, and she certainly gave me good advice then with my drawing techniques. However, my journey to become a Botanic Artist did not occur until many years later, but some important seeds were there ready to nurture, thanks to her!

equipment I use to carry out my work, with some poetry thrown in for good measure! At the end, if time allows, I give an opportunity to those who would like to try using the coloured pencils for themselves, but don’t worry, drawing skills are NOT necessarily required!

Depending on your response, I may need to hire a venue for a morning or afternoon as I don’t have suitable accommodation in my own home, and that I would have to factor into the cost.
I look forward to hearing from you if you are interested. Please contact me direct by e-mail:-
